About me

Hi, I'm Anouk van der Wegen.

Art is for me the ultimate form of self-expression – a way to capture emotions, beauty and chaos in one image. My work is a mix of abstract and figurative art, where I use the female body, shapes and lines to say something that words cannot express.

Photography is usually the starting point.
I start from my digital camera or analog camera. Afterwards I edit the image with different materials and layers to create a dreamy, emotional atmosphere.
I love experimenting, not knowing what will come out of it.
That's how I like to work in my DIY darkroom. I always just do something, without following the rules perfectly. I surprise myself every time.

Thanks to exhibitions at home and abroad, and collaborations with fashion designers and musicians, I can share my work with a larger audience. But I also love it when my art finds a place in someone's life.

Graduated in 2015 from AKV. St Joost (Breda, NL) as an autonomous visual artist. Since then I have been building a portfolio.

I am open to commissioned work and collaborations.
